An AI agent doesn't just answer: it decides and acts. It uses tools, takes several steps and pursues a goal with little supervision. Here we explain what it is and what it's good for.
Chatbot vs agent
A chatbot answers one question at a time. An agent receives a goal ("qualify this lead", "put together this report"), decides which steps to take, uses tools (search, write, call an API) and keeps going until it's done.
The 3 pieces of an agent
- Model (the brain): an LLM that reasons and decides.
- Tools (the hands): real actions, many of them through MCP servers.
- Loop (the persistence): it repeats think, act, observe until the goal is reached.
What it's for in an agency
- Qualifying leads by chat and booking the good ones.
- Researching and writing content or reports.
- Moving data between tools with no manual work.
How to start
Don't set up an autonomous agent for everything. Start with ONE bounded task, with human review at the critical points, and expand when you trust the result.

Does an agent replace my team?
No. It takes the repetitive, multi-step work; your team focuses on closing and on the client relationship.
Do I need to code to use agents?
There are no-code options (visual builders, GHL) and frameworks for developers. It depends on how custom you want it.
