GHL Updates

HighLevel brings appointments to Client Portal and automates communities

August 17, 2026

Product updates

  • HighLevel added customizable categories and colors for tags in Labs. Existing tags stay active, appear in gray at first and sit in the "No category" category until they are organized. Source: HighLevel changelog.
  • Communities added the "Requested to Join Group" workflow trigger, with filters by group and answers to membership questions. The answers can also be sent to a GPT action to evaluate requests before approving them or sending them to manual review. Source: HighLevel changelog.
  • Client Portal now shows notifications inside the portal when a contact receives an invoice or an estimate. It needs no extra setup and, for now, the supported channel is the in-app notification. Source: HighLevel changelog.
  • Client Portal added appointment management so contacts can view, book, rebook, reschedule or cancel eligible appointments from the portal. The feature requires enabling calendars for Client Portal and turning on Appointments in the portal permissions. Source: HighLevel changelog.

What to do today

  • Review the new tag organization in a test sub-account before creating categories or colors at scale. Source: HighLevel changelog.
  • If you manage Communities with request-based access, test the new trigger with membership question filters before automating approvals. Source: HighLevel changelog.
  • Verify that clients who use Client Portal can open the new invoice and estimate notifications from their account. Source: HighLevel changelog.
  • For sub-accounts that use Client Portal, decide which calendars should be available and enable Appointments only where it makes sense. Source: HighLevel changelog.
