The skill

---
name: scaffold-subagente-claude-code
description: Use when the user wants to create a new Claude Code subagent: generates a well-formed .claude/agents/<name>.md with frontmatter, a minimal tool allowlist, and a focused single-purpose system prompt.

# Subagent Scaffold for Claude Code

Generates a subagent focused on ONE task. Ask for the minimum, deliver the complete file.

## Ask first
- Purpose of the subagent (a single task)
- Is it read-only or can it edit/write?
- Tools it needs (Read, Grep, Glob, Edit, Bash, etc.)
- Suggested model (if applicable)

## Generate this file: .claude/agents/<name>.md

    ---
    name: <name-in-kebab-case>
    description: Use when <clear, specific trigger>. <What it does in 1 line>.
    tools: <minimal list, e.g. Read, Grep, Glob>
    ---

    You are a <role> specialized in <single task>.

    ## What you do
    <1-3 lines of exact scope>

    ## What you do NOT do
    <clear limits: does not change X, does not touch Y>

    ## How you report
    <expected output format>

    ## Rules
    - Do only the requested task, nothing more.
    - Return a concise <format>.
    - If something doesn't fit your purpose, say so and stop.

## Quality rules when generating
- The `description` says WHEN to use it (the trigger), not just what it is.
- Give it the minimum tools needed (least privilege).
- One subagent = one responsibility. If it does two things, suggest splitting it.

How to use

Save it as SKILL.md in ~/.claude/skills/scaffold-subagente/. Then ask Claude 'create a subagent for [task]' and it will generate the .claude/agents/<name>.md file ready to use.
