Integration
Claude Code + Notion
Notion's official MCP gives your agent access to the workspace: it searches, reads, creates and updates pages and databases, so your team's SOPs and wiki stop being out of its reach.

What you can do
| Action | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Search the workspace | Find the right SOP or note without opening Notion. |
| Read a page | Bring the procedure in as context before running a task. |
| Create pages | Document what it just did, in the team's format. |
| Update pages | Keep a document alive instead of duplicating it. |
| Query databases | Filter a light CRM or a project tracker. |
How to connect it
- 01Create an integration in Notion and copy its integration token.
- 02Share with that integration the pages or databases you want to expose (Notion doesn't give access to everything by default).
- 03Add Notion's official MCP server to your client following its documentation.
- 04Pass the token as an environment variable and restart.
- 05Verify with a search: if nothing shows up, it's almost always that the page isn't shared with the integration.
Agency use case
Document the work with no extra work
- 1.The agent finishes a technical task.
- 2.You ask it to document the procedure in Notion.
- 3.It finds the team's SOP template, follows it and creates the page.
- 4.The knowledge ends up in the wiki, not lost in a chat.
What you will trip over
- If you don't share the page with the integration, it doesn't exist for the agent. It's the most common mistake.
- Start with a limited space instead of exposing the whole agency workspace.
- Notion has rate limits: for large batches, process in chunks.

Can it read all of my Notion?+
Only what you explicitly share with the integration. Access is per page or database, not global.
