Integration
Claude Code + GoHighLevel
You connect Claude Code to GoHighLevel with HighLevel's official MCP server. Your agent gets read and write access to the CRM: contacts, opportunities, conversations and calendars, in plain language.

What you can do
| Action | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Query contacts | Find leads by name, tag or custom field without opening the dashboard. |
| Read opportunities | Check the pipeline status and what moved this week. |
| View conversations | Pull a contact's SMS and email history to give the agent context. |
| Query calendars | See booked appointments and open slots. |
| Update records | Write fields, tags and notes when you give it explicit permission. |
How to connect it
- 01Generate an access token in your GoHighLevel sub-account (Private Integration Token) and save your Location ID.
- 02Add HighLevel's official MCP server to your client (Claude Code, Claude Desktop or Cursor) using the method in its documentation.
- 03Paste the token and the Location ID as environment variables for the server, never inside the prompt or in the repo.
- 04Restart the client and confirm the MCP tools show up as available.
- 05Test with a read-only query before you give it write permissions.
Agency use case
Weekly pipeline report without opening GoHighLevel
- 1.You ask the agent for the pipeline movement of the last 7 days.
- 2.The agent queries opportunities and conversations through the MCP.
- 3.It returns a summary with stalled leads and suggested next steps.
- 4.You review it and send it to the client. What used to take an hour takes two minutes.
What you will trip over
- The token goes in the MCP server's environment variables. Never paste it into a prompt or push it to the repo.
- Start read-only. Give it write access only when you trust the flow, because an agent can modify real client records.
- The Location ID is per sub-account: if you manage several, confirm which one you are acting on before writing.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do I need the most expensive GoHighLevel plan?+
No. What you need is the ability to generate a private integration token in the sub-account, which is available on the standard agency plans.
Can the agent send messages to my clients?+
Only if you give it write permissions on conversations. Our recommendation is to keep a human review on any message that goes out to a client.
