Summary

Weekly bot that reviews your ads, explains why the winners win, and leaves the next round of tests written for you to approve.

If you pause and turn on ads by gut feel, you are not testing, you are guessing. This bot turns the week's performance into a list of concrete tests, with hypotheses and creative angles, and leaves it written where you can review it before you spend a dollar. ## By the numbers - Runs **once a week**, not daily: an ad test needs at least **7 days** of data so you do not read noise as signal. - Ask for an explicit threshold for a meaningful difference (example: **20% in cost per result**), because without a threshold any variation looks like a finding. - You review the **first 3 rounds** yourself before anything gets executed. ## The prompt ``` Set up a new bot with a weekly run. Guide me to connect my ad account (Meta Ads or Google Ads) and the Google Sheets file where I want the backlog, and then configure it like this: 1. Review the performance of the ads from the last 7 days. 2. Explain to me in plain English why the ones that are winning are winning: what the copy, the creative and the audience have in common. No jargon. 3. Write the next round of tests in the sheet, one row per test, with these columns: hypothesis, audience, creative angle, suggested budget, and what result would make it a winner. 4. Order the tests by expected impact, not by ease. Ask me before the first run: which campaigns matter, what difference I count as significant (give me the percentage), and what my maximum budget per test is. The first 3 runs are supervised: you prepare the backlog, I review it and correct it, and only after that you save it as a recurring bot. Never pause, activate or change the budget of an ad without my explicit yes. ``` ## What to change before using it - **The sheet.** If you work in Notion or Airtable, switch it there: what matters is that the backlog lives somewhere you open, not in the chat. - **The threshold.** 20% works for small budgets; with more volume, lower it to 10%. - **The permission limit.** The last line is the important one. A bot that can move budget on its own is a bot that can drain your account on a Sunday. ## Credit Adapted from [Ad Test Backlog](https://botdirectory.ai/bots/ad-test-backlog/) by `ericzakariasson`, from the [botdirectory.ai](https://botdirectory.ai) directory (MIT, Copyright 2026 Inbox Zero Inc.). Our version says where the result lands, requires a numeric threshold and adds the permission limit: the original had none of the three.
