Summary

Bot that checks your competitors' pricing pages and alerts you when something changes, with the before, the after and what it means.

Content

Finding out your competition lowered prices because a customer told you on a call is finding out late. This bot checks their pricing pages and sends you the change with the before and the after the same day. ## By the numbers - It checks every **6 hours**, not every hour: a pricing page does not change four times a day and checking too often trains you to ignore alerts. - **3 to 8 pages** is the useful range. With more than 10 the report turns into noise and you stop opening it. - Ask for a **sensitivity level**, because without that it alerts you on every comma change in the legal text. ## The prompt ``` Set up a new bot that checks every 6 hours. Guide me to connect the channel where I want the alerts (WhatsApp, email or Slack), and then configure it: 1. Watch the pricing pages I give you in a list. 2. When something changes, send me the before and the after of the text that changed, plus ONE line on what it probably means for me. 3. Ignore cosmetic changes: dates, counters, legal text, order of the plans. I only care about price, plans, limits and what is included. Ask me: which pages to watch, where I want the alert, and how sensitive the diff should be (for example, alert only if a number changes). The first week is supervised: you send me everything you detect even if you doubt it, I tell you what was noise, and you adjust the filter with that. ``` ## What to change before using it - **The channel.** The original sends to Slack. If your team lives in WhatsApp, change it: an alert in a channel nobody opens is not an alert. - **The page list.** Start with the 3 competitors that really take customers from you, not the 10 you know. - **The noise filter.** Adjust it the first week, do not leave it as it comes. ## Frequently asked questions **What if the competition hides prices behind a form?** Then this does not apply to that competitor. A bot should not fill in forms or create fake accounts to see prices, and you should not ask it to. **Why do I need to know the same day?** So you do not lose an open negotiation. If a prospect is comparing and the other one just dropped their price, you want to know before the call, not after. **Can it change my prices on its own?** No, and never give it that permission. Watching is read-only; setting prices is a business decision. ## Credit Adapted from [Competitor Pricing Watch](https://botdirectory.ai/bots/competitor-pricing-watch/) by `ericzakariasson`, from the [botdirectory.ai](https://botdirectory.ai) directory (MIT, Copyright 2026 Inbox Zero Inc.). Our version swaps Slack for WhatsApp or email (where a Hispanic agency lives), adds the explicit list of changes to ignore so the alert does not turn into noise, and defines the first week as supervised to calibrate the filter.
